st. elmo's fire...
yeah. the famous brat pack movie that made stars of demi moore, judd nelson, emilio estevez, rob lowe, and a couple others who were big in the 80s. i've been meaning to watch this movie for quite some time so i was pleased to find it on the tube tonight. pretty good movie. now i know where they got the idea for the show "friends." anyways, i liked the movie cuz of one line i heard. in it, emilio's character says a line that basically goes, "she's my evidence on earth that God exists." i actually feel this way about someone i know. she is truly someone special. someone i do not deserve. so it would only be the grace of God if we were to get back together. and, as with all things, only after kicking and screaming am i learning to let go and trust God in this matter. once again, my futile attempts at controlling my own destiny has left me with only one option: to place it in God's hands. gotta slide back over to the passenger seat.
twenty-six
i'm still tryin to process and recover from year 25. adjusting to a new home and church. major advancements in career. the two greatest struggles came one right after another. i found her. it was quite a busy year. i would say that it was the year that i became an adult. physically, it was the hardest year ever. everything about it was just so physically draining. in fact, i think i'm about 10 lbs lighter than i was a year ago. it was a year of pain, blessings, patience, and trust. here's to year 25...
